At the Aesthetic Surgery Centre, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani discusses the importance of choosing a board certified plastic surgeon when considering cosmetic or reconstructive surgery.

A recent study by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery revealed a 147% increase in surgical and non-surgical cosmetic enhancement procedures between 1997 and 2009. As aesthetic enhancement becomes more prevalent, Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani, Dr. Jon to his patients, a plastic surgeon in Orlando and founder and Medical Director of the Aesthetic Surgery Centre, recently discussed the importance of choosing a board-certified plastic surgeon. Dr. Jon says the American Board of Plastic Surgery board-certification process is a rigorous process that provides the necessary education and experience to ensure a plastic surgeon is qualified to perform any number of plastic surgery procedures.

Whether considering procedures such as body contouring or breast augmentation in Florida, Dr. Jon says board-certification is an essential component when making such an important life decision. He says he believes the process of being certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery ensures the overall safety and satisfaction of each patient, and creates the strongest possibility for achieving the desired cosmetic results.

Within his own practice, Dr. Jon offers a wide range of procedures, from facelifts to liposuction in Orlando. He says he strongly believes his groundbreaking work with the latest surgical technologies has allowed him to remain at the forefront of the plastic surgery field, and attributes much of his success to the process and eventual acceptance of his board-certification as he continues to work at optimizing the safety and aesthetic appearance of his patients.

With over 10 million surgical and non-surgical aesthetic enhancement procedures performed in the U.S. last year, Dr. Jon says board-certification is a necessity regardless of whether a patient is considering a non-invasive procedure like BOTOXģ injections, or a more involved surgical procedure like the tummy tuck in Orlando. Because of the challenging and thorough evaluation process, board-certification is a key indicator of a surgeonís skills and qualifications, which Dr. Jon says should be considered an essential addition to any successful plastic surgeonís resume, as well as an important component of any decision to pursue aesthetic enhancement surgery.
